Business premises

Commercial locksmith

Commercial door locks, rekeys, and repairs for shops, offices, and other business entrances.

Commercial locksmith work is for doors that protect a business: aluminum storefronts, office suites, staff entrances, and warehouse personnel doors. The hardware is heavier than a house lock, and the keys are often shared. A lost staff key is a rekey problem. A door that does not latch is a repair problem.

The visit is at the premises. A property manager, owner, or authorized employee needs to be there, with something that shows they can approve the work. Effint will not open or rekey a commercial door on a verbal claim alone.

Homes belong on the residential page. Vehicles parked behind the shop belong on the automotive page.

On the visit

Commercial visits can include

Lockouts

Opening a business door for someone authorized to enter.

Rekeys

New keys after a staff change or a missing set.

Cylinder work

Worn, spinning, or mismatched commercial cylinders.

Forced doors

Hardware that no longer secures the premises after damage.

Several doors

A note of every entrance that shares a key.

A limit on scope

Alarms and networked access control are not part of this service.

Common situations

Who should call

Owners and managers

The person who can approve work on that lease or property.

Opening staff

Only with authority from the business. Bring that authority to the door.

After a break-in

Secure the door first. A repair visit can follow once the scene is safe.

Before a lease ends

A rekey is easier to schedule than an after-hours lockout on moving day.

Staff changes and lost keys

Rekeying lets you keep sound commercial cylinders and issue a new key. That is the usual request when an employee leaves with a key, or a key ring goes missing. If the cylinder is worn or the door was forced, repair or replacement is the better spend.

Tell us how many doors share the key. Rekeying one leaf and forgetting the back door leaves the old key useful.

Storefront doors

Commercial door locksmith work often includes the cylinder, the latch, and the way the door sits in the frame. A closer that slams, or a door that has dropped, can look like a lock failure. The quote should say whether the lock is the real fault.

Questions

Practical answers

What is a commercial locksmith visit?

Work on business doors and cylinders: shops, offices, warehouses, and clinics. Typical jobs are a lock that will not secure the premises, a rekey after staff changes, or hardware that has been forced.

Do you take emergency commercial calls?

Yes, when a business cannot lock up or cannot get in. Use the emergency page as well if timing is the main issue. Arrival is still confirmed, not assumed.

Can you master-key a whole building?

A large master-key system needs a survey of every door. This page does not sell a packaged system. Ask for a survey if several doors must work on related keys.

Is access-control wiring included?

No. Effint’s commercial work here is locks, cylinders, closers that affect latching, and rekeys. Alarm contracts and networked access control are a different trade.
